How to Reach the DIQUIS DEL SUR - COSTA RICA

From San Jose to Ojochal

• By public bus

Go to the MUSOC Terminal by taxi. MUSOC buses only go to San Isidro (Perez Zeledon). For less than 10$ US, enjoy a 3-hour journey in the mountains (one stop mid-way). The view is spectacular and the buses are comfortable. Departures every hour, from 5 H 30 in the morning to 6 h 30 in the evening.

From San Isidro (Perez Zeledon), take a taxi. Ask for Ojochal, 25 minutes south to Dominical. The journey’s duration is a little over an hour and costs approximately 60$. As soon as you reach Ojochal, DIQUIS signposts will show you the way towards the Resort. 

• Driving by yourself

If you wish to reach Ojochal on your own, with a rented or private car, from San José through the Pacific Coast (3h drive):

Ojochal, Playa Tortuga, South Pacific, Costa Rica

- Head North from the San Jose airport (towards Alajuela-Puntarenas)
- Continue driving for 11 kilometers
- You should see a sign pointing right (La Garita, Atenas)
- Exit the highway to the right and make a left turn (direction Atenas-Quepos)
- Continue driving on the main road for 2.5 kilometers
- Turn left towards Turrucanes

- Continue driving for 3.5 kilometers and turn left (you will pass under the highway) in Turrucanes for the highway (autopista) Caldera direction Caldera  

- Continue driving on the highway until you see the exit for Jaco
- Continue driving on the main road, signs are pointing to Quepos 103 kilometers and Jaco 37 kilometers
- Continue driving straight, pass by Jaco towards Quepos
- Continue driving through Parrita
- Before Quepos you should see a sign pointing left (Playa Dominical 43 kilometers)
- Continue driving on the main road
- Drive straight from the police checkpoint, drive pass Dominical on the right
- Continue driving on the main road for 34 kilometers
- You will see the entrance to Ojochal on your left. No pave.
- Continue 300m and pass the small bridge. Take the second road on your right (Papagayo) and continue for 1 km along the road. You can see Diquis butterfly signs next to the hotel entrance!

SANSA Company has various flights departing from San Jose to Quepos (1h00 from Diquis) but only one from San José to Palmar Sur (30 min from Diquis). Reservations and schedule information is available on the SANSA site www.flysansa.com. For your information, one way tickets prices start at 106$ for Palmar and 75$ for Quepos (including taxes). We can also book for you, the Diquis has an account with SANSA. 
Previous reservation, the hotel has an airport pick-up service for guests.
